Position Overview:
We are seeking a meticulous and analytical Financial Accountant to join our team in a newly created position. Reporting to the Commercial and Finance Manager; the ideal candidate will play a key role in maintaining our financial health and integrity through accurate recording, analysis, and reporting of financial transactions. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to strategic financial decisions and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with accounting standards and regulations
- Responsible for General Ledger Maintenance and Balance Sheet Reconciliations
- Conduct monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes
- Fixed Asset Register maintenance and compliance for the Group
- Tax Reporting and ATO Compliance
- Support statutory audits and ensure adherence to internal controls
- Leverage previous experience from auditing, accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll for efficient finance operation
- Collaborate with other departments to streamline financial operations
- Stay updated on changes in financial regulations and best practices
About you:
- Bachelor’s or Masters degree in accounting or finance
- Proven experience as a Financial Accountant or similar role for 4-5 years
- Candidates pursuing CA or CPA - highly preferred
- Candidates from big 4 or top tier accounting firms will be highly regarded
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and regulations
- Proficiency in ERP financial software and MS Office, with advanced Excel skills
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
