Maurice Blackburn, experience you can count on.About the RoleWe are looking for a Data Analyst to join our Class Action team based in our Melbourne CBD office on a full time, 12 month contract. The successful candidate will be responsible for the effective and efficient management of group member data through the lifecycle of a Class Action matter. You will be assisting with data structures for group member information and generic matter related information as well as supporting the systems administrator for the loss assessment tool. Implementing data manipulation techniques and strategies to optimise data quality and process on a class action matter.Developing and ensuring the accuracy of data reporting and analysis outcomes to assist the data-driven strategic planning across various matters. Identifying potential risk with respect to trade data management & treatment, and to improve process consistency on various case matters. Undertaking reviews and data quality checks on relevant loss calculations.The experience we are looking for:

  • Experience managing large volumes of operational and transactional data in a business context is essential.
  • Experience with information systems used for the management of operational and transactional data
  • A qualification in data analytics or data science or commensurate experience is preferred
  • Solid skills in Excel, with experience in Power Query function
  • Excellent analytical skills, ability to identify trends, patterns and insights from various data points
  • Understanding of reporting & data visualisation tools such Power BI - capable of developing models and reports for various data levels with high accuracy
