Summary Summary Our Tier 1 EPCM client seeks an experienced Lead Civil Engineer to work on a major project with a 3+ years project life for a Tier 1 mining company, Perth based on an initial 12-month contract (high possibility for extension).
This large-scale project, valued at over $1 billion, aims to sustain the mining client’s iron ore production in Western Australia. The project scope includes civil earthworks, roads, material handling transfer pads, non-process infrastructure (NPI) pads, and surface water management and drainage.
As a Lead Civil Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the highest standards of project delivery. Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading a team of civil engineers and fostering their development.
- Providing technical expertise and guidance throughout various project stages, from design to implementation.
- Producing design documentation, specifications, and project deliverables.
- Applying a comprehensive understanding of engineering principles to develop practical and economical solutions that meet client requirements.
- Coordinating the production of documentation, specifications, and deliverables within agreed project timeframes and budget constraints.
- Minimum job duration of 18 months with high potential for extension beyond the initial 12 months.
- Flexible working hours allowing customization of start and end times.

- Bachelor of Engineering degree in Civil Engineering
- 12+ years of relevant professional experience and demonstrated experience working on mining, earthworks and road projects.
- Demonstrated experience working on study and design projects within the mining industry.
- Demonstrated capability as a technical leader and people mentor with the ability to lead and manage a team of engineers and designers.
- Strong interpersonal skills, having impact and influence with the capacity to build professional relationships both internally and client-facing.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyse and resolve complex issues.

- Degree qualification in Civil Engineering (chartered membership status – Engineers Australia).
- Consulting engineering experience – at a Senior level.

Key Accountabilities
- Design and deliver Electrical systems for Heavy Industry Mobile Equipment (HME) and Rail Development projects in a safe, timely and sustainable manner.
- Contribute to design reviews and validation of various engineering designs and associated component selection suitable for application.
- Providing technical guidance on all Electrical Engineering Systems related to works being carried out, ensuring compliance to relevant standards.
- Develop technical specifications and scopes of work to meet project specific objectives.
- Monitor, interpret, and stay up to date with relevant regulatory requirements, standards, and directives applicable to our products and industry.
- Resolution of technical issues related to electrical design, standards and/or compliance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate compliance into product development processes.
- Proactively deliver on the company’s stretch targets
- Liaising with a range of key stakeholders on all technical aspects of projects
- Providing regular updates to the Principal Electrical Engineer including work progress, risks, and priorities.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Mining, Rail or Heavy Mobile Equipment.
- Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering (essential)
- Experience with development of electrical standards, processes and procedures.
- Experience with Arc Flash Risk and management.
- Experience with Functional Safety standard and compliance.
- Experience with inverters, chargers and VSD with experience in electrical noise filtration is advantageous.
- Experience in designing high voltage DC power systems.

As aPrincipal Electrical Designer,you will be focusing onthe primary purpose of this role is to drive and deliver safe and sustainable electrical design on a for various sustaining capital projects. Large component of the scopes will have brownfield elements; strong design capabilities on brownfield projects is key.
The successful candidate is expected to be able to lead and coordinate the design deliverables, coordinate work amongst the team, ensure technical integrity of the deliverables and conduct work in line with company procedures. Not all roles on the project will require the individual to work in a lead capacity however ability to quality check and sign off on deliverables on behalf of the discipline is necessary.
Proven discipline project lead experience on brownfield projects is highly preferred.

The role responsibilities include:
- Deliver discipline specific design and drafting services that meet companu, the client’s and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements.
- Perform discipline specific design and drafting services such as:
- Assist in scoping requirements and estimating design budget in response to requests for Lead Engineers.
- Support the discipline in interviewing candidates for the project.
- Communicate effectively and regularly with the project Lead Engineers, other discipline design teams, Workshare team and Project Engineers/Managers on design progress, technical matters, workshare, and resource planning.
- Establish and maintain good working relationships within Company, with its clients and other.
- stakeholders.
- Identify issues and problems; develop appropriate and innovative solutions; and ask for assistance if required.
- Interface with the instrumentation and control discipline to complete design scope.
- Where working in the capacity of the project design lead:
- A recognised design qualification (Advanced Diploma) in the relevant discipline or recognised Electrical trade qualification.
- A decent relevant experience in designing and drafting with promising experience recently in resources (or closely allied) industry, BP preferred.
- Proven lead role experience managing designers on multiple brownfield resources projects.
- Experienced, competent user of AutoCAD, Microstation (2D & 3D).
- Competent in the use of relevant software such as MS Office Suite, PDF Exchange, Bluebeam.
- Selection of electrical equipment (lighting & small power, control & wiring devices, enclosures).
- Proven experience in designing electrical deliverables such as:
- AVEVA 3D modelling packages, (PDMS, E3D).
