About the role:

We have an exciting opportunity and a newly created role for an experienced Maintenance Manager seeking the next challenge and opportunity. The position will be responsible to lead the transformation of a newly formed maintenance function within the Terminals business to deliver long term asset integrity and optimise terminal reliability.

In addition, you will lead a team of up to 5 direct reports and provide maintenance SME advice, work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to deliver fit for purpose strategies and execution plans driving improved asset performance, reliability, regulatory compliance and reporting.

Key responsibilities:

  • Engage across the Terminals Australia business to establish and deliver a robust maintenance strategy and short, medium and long term business plans.
  • Establish effective 5 year high risk equipment (HRE) schedules and budgets aligned to long term asset maintenance strategies.
  • Support the development and implementation of a national critical and non-critical spare part program.
  • Execute OPEX and HRE maintenance safely and efficiently.
  • Apply risk management principles that ensure compliance and deliver optimal asset integrity and reliability.
  • Build and sustain technical capability within the Terminals Australia business.
  • Conduct and champion root cause maintenance investigations.
  • Set performance standards and monitor delivery.
  • Develop and manage external contractor engagement strategies, safety management and work performance.
  • Deliver improvement through technology across scheduling, planning, budgeting and compliance.

About you:

You have proven experience and skills to perform in a high level strategic position combining operational technical capability, strong leadership, ability to manage complex change and implement programs and projects to execute terminal business excellence.

Being solutions focused, a dynamic senior team member with strong stakeholder management and engagement will be foremost in your professional attributes. Your diverse communication skills will also help you thrive in this role along with a high level of work ethic.

Key skills and experience:

  • Electrical or Mechanical Trade or Tertiary qualifications in Engineering
  • 5-10 years experience in operations, maintenance, reliability or technical leadership is desirable
  • Experience in change management
  • Experience in managing capital plans, opex budgets, business budget and planning processes and governance
  • Experience in developing and implementing business and strategic plans
  • Petroleum or Chemical industry experience is a desirable
  • Sound knowledge of hydrocarbons and downstream distribution processes
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Our total remuneration is competitive.  This is across base salary, a performance incentive, employee share offers and a 25% discount on Fuel for two privately used cars
