We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Construction Estimator to join our team and contribute to our ongoing success.

Job Summary:

The Construction Estimator will be responsible for analysing project plans and specifications, preparing detailed cost estimates, and assisting in the bidding process. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction estimation, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with project managers, architects, and other stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and analyse project plans, specifications, and other documents to prepare accurate cost estimates.
  • Conduct site visits to gather information and assess project conditions.
  • Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure comprehensive and accurate estimates.
  • Prepare detailed quantity take-offs and cost breakdowns for labour, materials, equipment, and subcontractor services.
  • Identify and evaluate potential project risks and opportunities.
  • Maintain and update historical cost data and unit prices.
  • Assist in the preparation and submission of bid proposals, ensuring all requirements are met.
  • Participate in pre-bid meetings and presentations to clients and stakeholders.
  • Continuously monitor industry trends, market conditions, and pricing to ensure competitive and accurate estimates.
  • Provide support during the project lifecycle to address any cost-related issues or changes.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in construction estimating, preferably in Estimating.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and building codes.
  • Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., Buildertrend, PlanSwift, ProEst) and MS Office Suite.
  • Excellent mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
