Strategy and Precincts
The Strategy and Precincts is a Group within the Department of Transport and Planning which defines and plans the needs and approach to Victorian places and communities.
Integrated Land and Transport Planning division
Working collaboratively across state and local government, the division leads strategic land use and transport planning to shape a thriving and connected Victoria.
The Integrated Transport Advice provides outcomes-focused strategic advice and strategic alignment assurance, facilitating robust decision making on emerging issues, and coordinating departmental responses to key reports. Supports strategy and policy development across the department through the identification of key knowledge needs and evidence gaps, and coordination and communication of a range of research projects and products to help address them.
We’re focused on outcomes that deliver more choice, connections and confidence in our travel, ensuring the whole transport network works as one to deliver better services and outcomes.
The two Senior Transport Engineer positions will play a key role in shaping an evolving integrated transport and land use system in Victoria. The roles will work closely across the transport portfolio and with transport, place and land use planners at state and local level, applying engineering expertise to help achieve coordinated and integrated transport and land use outcomes through the provision of robust transport planning advice.
You will work with multi-disciplinary internal experts and consultant matrix teams, the role will have a hands-on coordination role as an integrated transport and movement and place champion, coordinating transport studies, analysis and plans, embedding movement and place principles in the integration of transport planning with land use planning and government policy to help achieve a thriving and connected Victoria.

Qualifications and Experience
Mandatory
- A relevant tertiary degree in civil engineering or equivalent engineering degree.
- Experience in transport planning with a focus on strategic place-based outcomes.
