We re keen to speak to skilled Graduate Civil Engineers who are ready to launch their careers within an established and successful company with works in railway civil engineering. This opportunity will offer the right applicant plenty of opportunity for progression, comprehensive training and a gateway to the lucrative UK rail industry. Successful candidates will also have the opportunity to gain IEng and Chartered Engineer status.

Your responsibilities as a Graduate Civil Engineer:

  • Collaborate with the Design Management team to coordinate temporary and permanent works design, ensuring smooth integration with the construction team across various civil engineering disciplines
  • Analyse client requirements to determine design needs and establish the scope of works before commencing design activities.
  • Liaise with sub-contract design consultants, briefing them on requirements, and obtain estimates
  • Assist in placing sub-contract orders for works
  • Review designer s deliverables to ensure designs fulfil the clients remit and comply with the standards and regulations applicable to the contract.
  • Provide support to the construction team as required
  • Carry-out technical reviews of all documents submitted by sub-contract design engineers
  • Attend progress meetings with clients to report on progress and deal with queries. Update and maintain design progress and keep database updated.

Requirements as a Graduate Civil Engineer:

  • A degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or Building Engineering
  • Ideally some experience of working within the engineering or construction industry
  • Great communication skills
