Ready to contribute expertise and provide specialist advice and input into the development and implementation of complex Intelligent Transport Systems initiatives that improve the operation of South Australia's transport network? We're looking for a Team Leader to join our Traffic Management Centre and provide innovative solutions to traffic issues through smarter use of existing infrastructure.

The Opportunity
The Network Management Services Directorate sits within the Road and Marine Services Division and provides an end-to-end traffic management service and control centre to optimise the effectiveness of our road network.
The Team Leader, Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) provides high level and strategic professional and technical planning advice and input into the development and implementation of complex ITS initiatives that improve the operation of the transport network.
The Team Leader works under broad direction in the application of ITS to solve traffic issues through smarter use of existing infrastructure. The role liaises and engages with a broad internal and external stakeholder group and provides expert advice regarding the integration of ITS for all major road projects managed by the Department. The role leverages the increasing use of information and communication technologies (ICT) by the Department and its industry partners in providing positive transport outcomes and services for the South Australian community.
The Team Leader will lead change initiatives, manage resources effectively, lead major investigations and provide expert advice on integrating ITS for major road projects. About You
We're looking for a candidate with a comprehensive understanding of transport networks and systems, along with extensive knowledge of traffic systems applications. Your strong interpersonal skills and ability to engage and partner with diverse stakeholders will be essential for success in this role.
The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to develop well-informed reports and briefings. These skills will also be applied in influencing and negotiating outcomes that are technically and politically sound.
You'll have proven experience in leading teams and implementing change in a complex environment. With your analytical mindset and problem-solving abilities, you'll drive innovation and deliver solutions that meet our objectives.

Requirements
A degree level qualification in Engineering or a degree or post graduate qualification in the discipline of Transport Planning is required.
Special Conditions
Prior to employment with the Department, the successful candidate will be required to provide:
- A National Police Check (NPC) which is required to be renewed every three years.
- A Department for Human Services (DHS) Working with Children Check (WWCC) which is required to be renewed every five years before expiry.
Some out of hours and weekend work, along with some intra/interstate travel requiring overnight stays, may be required.
Remuneration
PO4 - $109,060 to $118,690 per annum
