Operating within the Spatial & Data Services team you will lead a small team of spatial information officers delivering spatial products and services to business units across RDMW. You will lead projects in spatial data management, spatial product development and spatial data governance and provide advice on emerging issues and new technologies to the Manager, Spatial and Data Services.
You will work closely with the Remote Sensing and Data Services teams as well as other teams across RDMW to deliver projects, contribute to agency wide reform of the water business and identify opportunities to enhance business service delivery through the application of spatial technologies.

Key Duties and Accountabilities
• Provide specialist advice and support to departmental officers and customers in the field of technology associated with mapping, GIS, remote sensing and associated products and services.
• Provide specialist advice and support to departmental officers and customers the storage, management and publication of spatial data sets and their integration with related data sets stored in corporate applications.
• Maintain knowledge of technologies and business processes to provide management with analysis of alternatives and recommendations for the implementation or changes to activities and procedures.
• Produce geographic information related products and provide services in accordance with the relevant Business and Operational Plans and customer needs.
• Liaise with business units across the water division to identify opportunities to enhance service delivery through the application of spatial technologies.
• Lead and participate in business improvement projects using geographic information systems and other spatial and information technologies.
• Prepare correspondence, reports, guidelines and procedures relating to the management and delivery of spatial data, products and services.
• Liaise and negotiate with Departmental staff, other Government Departments and private organisations on Departmental policies and procedures relating to the capture, supply and use of the Department's data products.
