Position Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Project Manager with a passion for sustainable cities and urban planning. This role requires a strategic thinker who excels in project management, has strong communication skills, and can effectively lead teams to deliver impactful projects. The ideal candidate will have experience working with local government and a keen interest in transport and sustainable city initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage complex projects focused on sustainable transport and urban planning.
- Develop project plans, timelines, and budgets, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within scope.
- Coordinate and communicate with stakeholders, including local government officials, community groups, and partners.
- Manage project teams, providing direction, support, and motivation to achieve project objectives.
- Utilise project management tools, such as Trello, to track progress and maintain organised project documentation.
- Prepare comprehensive reports, presentations, and communications to convey project status, outcomes, and recommendations.
- Foster strong relationships with local government entities to facilitate project implementation and advocacy efforts.
Required Skills and Experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication: Ability to articulate ideas clearly and effectively in both written and spoken forms.
- Time management: Demonstrated ability to prioritise tasks, manage time efficiently, and meet deadlines.
- Organisational skills: Strong organisational abilities to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.
- People management: Proven experience in managing and leading teams, fostering collaboration, and resolving conflicts.
- MS Office proficiency: Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Trello: Proficiency in using Trello (or similar) for project management and task coordination.
- Local government experience: Prior experience working with local government agencies or in a similar environment.
Desirable Attributes
- Interest in transport, sustainable cities, and planning: A genuine passion for and understanding of sustainable urban development and transport systems.
- Proactive and innovative mindset: Ability to think creatively and propose new ideas for sustainable urban solutions.
