Job Description
As a payroll officer, you will mainly be responsible for performing the end-to-end payroll process, ensuring accurate and timely processing of employee salaries, benefits, deductions, and other payroll-related transactions. Your tasks include but are not limited to:
- Run end to end payroll process via a weekly pay run
- Processing a mixture of digital time and attendance and manual time sheets
- Review and reconcile payroll reports, identifying and resolving any discrepancies.
- Stay up-to-date with changes in payroll legislation, tax codes, and other regulations to ensure compliance and provide guidance to the wider team.
The Successful Applicant
This role is a stand alone position, so having proven payroll experience is essential with the capacity to work independently. You will also have:
- In depth awards interpretations knowledge; exposure to building construction awards would be advantageous
- Skills to tailor communication styles when responding to employee inquiries related to payroll, benefits, and deductions, providing excellent customer service and resolving any issues promptly.
- A growth mindset with the capability to bring ideas to the table and the desire to improve process
- Excellent analytic and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with integrity.
