The Policy and Media Adviser for the Australian Information Industry Association (AIIA) is a new role that will help shape technology policy and government and media engagement for the dynamic sector. You will work directly with the largest global tech brands in the world representing the collective interests of members to government in a dynamic environment. You will assist in coordinating policy debates and shaping legislation in areas including: skills, digital health, cyber security, AI, ESG and tech industry policy to name a few. This is fantastic role that will leave your mark and grow your profile and perfect for someone a few years into their post graduate journey and wants to take their career to the next level.
The primary role/purpose as Adviser, Policy & Media is to support the General Manager of Policy and Media but to also work directly with our diverse membership to develop policy positions, papers and submissions to facilitate the effective member engagement with government and industry. The role will also include working with AIIA members through supporting AIIA policy advisory networks and State Councils to develop policy positions and submissions and liaising with government for meetings and roundtables. Excellent writing and organisational skills are required as is a good understanding of policy development in Australia.
The location for the right person is flexible but Sydney location is preferred and we have offices in Canberra with head office in Melbourne and we offer a hybrid work environment.
