Our client, a global power development and investment company, strategically manages a portfolio in the evolving power sector worldwide. Positioned to capitalize on energy investment opportunities due to the global demand for electricity and water, they pioneer future energy solutions through long-term investments.
With its new projects close to completion in Australia, they are now opening an office in Australia.
About the Role:
The CFO will oversee financial management for our client in Australia, serving as a key business partner to the management teams in the headquarter.
The right candidate will be one of the first members of the C-suite team in Australia, contributing to a very dynamic and entrepreneurial environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Preserve business asset integrity, ensuring top-tier corporate governance, compliance, and internal control.
- Develop and implement an effective financial strategy, coordinating with Group Finance Functions.
- Effectively lead the finance function, enhancing organizational capabilities in coordination with the Group CFO.
- Manage all aspects of accounting, including accounts payable, receivable, banks, payroll, inventory, and fixed assets.
- Prepare periodic reconciliations, including monthly bank and general ledger reconciliations.
- Prepare statutory financial statements.
- Prepare and review tax calculations, estimates, and reports.
- Manage treasury functions, including cash flow planning, optimal capital structuring, and country-level corporate finance activities.
- Support the development of a risk assessment framework for insurable risks.
- Manage activities related to insurance programs and contracts, provide updates on open claims, and ensure effective data gathering and reporting.
- Provide information for insurance needs, support insurance strategy, and lead procurement of insurance coverage.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Hold a graduate degree in Accounting, Finance, or related fields.
- Possess a minimum of 5 years in holding similar position and 10 years in financial management.
- Exposure to international companies with large complexity and to multicultural business environments.
- Capable of working effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of the power and utility business
- Big4 experience in the field of Audit, Tax and Assurance.
