CBRE holds trust monies on behalf of clients in Australia and New Zealand in relation to real estate and property management transactions. This role will assist CBRE in managing their legal and fiduciary responsibilities in relation to the management of CBRE trust accounts, have strong stakeholder management and technical ability.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare daily Agency Portfolio tasks (Receipting/Disbursements/Reconciliations etc. executed in accordance with statutory requirements)
  • Ensure Trust Accounts are maintained in accordance with the legislative requirements applicable for each state/country in the Pacific region.
  • External audits: Support the external audit process - ensure queries are addressed in a timely manner and that no breaches are recorded on the annual Statutory Trust Audits in Australia and New Zealand.
  • Provide regular reporting in line with legislative and auditing requirements
  • Liaise and collaborate with other business functions i.e., Compliance, Legal, Property Management etc.
  • Analyse system data to provide insights - Provide Management Information and Reporting
  • Challenge processes and procedures and develop recommendations to deliver improved efficiency and best in class processes.
  • Support the new system development project - understand the underlying process and support the and implement recommendations on areas of improvement to deliver efficiency
  • Implement risk mitigation controls to manage risk areas, drive investigations and outcomes, and liaise with key stakeholders on risk areas.
  • Deliver excellent customer service to internal and external clients

Qualifications and Skills:

  • The ideal candidate would be a Qualified Accountant - (CA/CPA/or equivalent Big 4 highly advantageous)
  • A high level of attention to detail and process orientated approach is required
  • Strong Excel and systems skills (Business Intelligence Experience is highly advantageous)
  • excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Property experience and property license/ trust accounting legislation knowledge highly advantageous
  • ERP and/or System Implementation experience is preferred
