MMS is a leading mining services company delivering full turn-key contract mining services to both established and start-up mines in Western Australia. Our team is backed by decades of practical experience across a range of commodities and mining operations. We are committed to conducting safe and efficient work that maximises productivity onsite.
With the recent awarding of additional mining contracts, MMS is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our open pit mining team.
Position Overview
As a Senior Project Manager at one of our Open Pit Mining Projects, you will play a critical role in steering the development, planning, and execution of mining projects with precision and efficiency. This position requires a comprehensive understanding of mining and haulage operations, combined with robust project management skills to ensure seamless project delivery.
This role is offered on an 8/6 FIFO roster from Perth, candidates residing in Kalgoorlie are also encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities
Project Planning: Develop detailed project plans including schedules, budgets, and resource allocation to ensure successful project outcomes.
Resource Management: Efficiently allocate and manage project resources, including personnel, equipment, and materials.
Safety Compliance: Enforce stringent safety protocols and ensure compliance with industry regulations to maintain a safe working environment.
Risk Management: Identify potential project risks and develop effective mitigation strategies to minimise disruptions and delays.
Stakeholder Communication: Maintain transparent and consistent communication with project stakeholders, including clients, team members, and senior management.
Quality Assurance: Ensure project deliverables meet the highest quality standards and align with company and industry specifications.
Cost Control: Monitor project expenses and implement cost-saving measures to uphold project profitability.
Project Reporting: Provide regular project status reports to senior management, offering insights into progress, challenges, and proposed solutions.
Skills/Qualifications
- Current & valid driver's license with appropriate endorsements.
- National Police Clearance.
- Qualification in Business or Management (highly desirable).
- Quarry Manager Certificate (highly desirable).
- 2+ years’ experience as a Project Manager within a mining environment.
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to safety.
