About the role
It’s an exciting time to join Senex with the recent announcement that we plan to invest more than A$1 billion in a major expansion of our Atlas and Roma North natural gas assets.
Reporting to our Production Engineering Manager, we have an opportunity to join us in Brisbane as a Production Allocation Engineer where you will be responsible for the accurate allocation of Coal Seam Gas (CSG) production to individual wells or reservoirs in multi-well systems.
Your technical experience will be key to your success in this role where you will work to ensure that allocation is completed fairly based on well performance, ownership stakes and other factors.
Your duties and responsibilities will include:
- Accurately allocate CSG production volumes to individual wells or reservoirs in shared systems.
- Use production data, well tests, and measurement systems to determine allocations.
- Periodically review allocation methodologies and improve or update as necessary.
- Collaborate with reservoir and production engineers to understand reservoir performance and integrate findings into allocation methodologies.
- Generate regular reports on well performance and allocations for internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Use reservoir and production simulation tools to validate or improve allocation methodologies.
- Interpret well tests and integrate results into the allocation process.
- Act as a focal point for production allocation software (P2).
- Ensure production allocation methodologies comply with contractual obligations, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
- Identify anomalies or discrepancies in allocation data and work collaboratively to resolve them.
About You
You will be tertiary qualified in Engineering and/or Accounting and come with relevant experience working in a similar role with a Master’s degree being a bonus. You will be known for your technical knowledge and ability to take ownership of projects, actions and decisions which will be key when providing technical support to field operators or other teams in matters relating to production allocation.
With experience in analysing well performance data and trends, you will also have a solid track record of being exceptionally strong with stakeholder management and influencing, including the ability to effectively manage difficult situations in a calm and collaborative manner to create win/win outcomes for all parties while being a role model for appropriate health and safety behaviours.
