About The Role:With the company showing continued growth, we are seeking a Graduate Engineer to join our Engineering and Projects team to work on various multidiscipline, turnkey projects. The role presents as a great opportunity to complement our current team and gain exposure to a wide range of industries which include:
- General Construction
- Structural, Mechanical, Piping (SMP)
- Water
- Mining
- Oil and Gas
- Marine
- Food and Beverage
Reporting to the Construction Manager and under the guidance of experienced engineering professionals, the Graduate Engineer will develop skills, knowledge, and experiences associated with both McMahon Services’ business processes and the wider construction industry.
The role is also expected to embrace the culture of McMahon Services and add a dynamic to the team environment through active participation and engagement, undertaking project engineering activities.
This opportunity will provide experience working on a wide range of multi-discipline projects with varying elements including civil and concrete construction, SMP – mechanical, structural and piping, electrical and instrumentation and commissioning. Projects range in size from small to very large and are located in and around Adelaide as well as regional South Australia or even across Australia.
Work Type: Full TimeResponsibilities:- To learn and embed into the McMahon Services culture as well as an introduction to the RISE values
- Effective communication and building positive relationships with customers, project team and management
- Work closely with the team members to understand and ensure compliance with client and McMahon Services’ systems and processes
- Participate in developing construction methods, techniques and sequences as well as specific technical requirements of various types of construction work
- Learn to read, understand and apply construction drawings, specifications and contracts
- Work within the Pre-Contracts team to learn and support tendering activities including quantity take-offs, subcontract and supplier interactions and development of tender submissions
- Assist with construction program development and tracking project progress
- Assist with the preparation and population of quality assurance documentation
- Undertake appropriate investigations, inspections and methodology development
- Use of modern software programs to drive efficiency and professionalism in the role
To be successful in the role, you will need:
- Degree in Civil, Structural or Mechanical Engineering
- Ability to problem solve, follow directions and innovate as an individual and as part of a team
- Ability to cope with urgency, efficiently assign work priorities and work in a high-pressure environment
- Ability to work on site and away may be required
- Proficiency in use of Microsoft Office suite
- Strong organisational / planning, verbal and written communication skills are highly regarded
- Strong knowledge of Autocad, Bluebeam, Navisworks etc.
- Applicants must be able to comply with police check and drug testing requirements.
- Hold Australian Citizenship
