Transgrid operates and manages the major high voltage electricity transmission network in NSW and the ACT, connecting generators, distributors and major end users.
Our core role is to connect electricity consumers to a safe, secure and reliable network through efficient maintenance, proficient operation of assets and prudent investment. Our network is the backbone of the NEM, enabling energy trading between Australia's three largest states along the east coast and supporting the competitive wholesale electricity market

The Opportunity
This is an exciting opportunity for a Project Engineer to be part of an organisation dedicated to nation-building renewable energy projects that will provide on-demand energy and large-scale storage for many generations to come.
As the Project Engineer, you will manage the project engineering function within the Class B ($80-$500M) projects team. This role would undertake detailed engineering management and provide general project support to the Project Manager and others as required in project delivery. Support the management of technical issues, commercial matters, contract administration, procurement, construction management, design coordination and start-up and close out items.
About you
- Degree qualification in relevant discipline or substantial industry experience in the delivery of large- scale projects.
- Proven to work well autonomously and collaboratively as part of a Team.
- High standard of communication and report writing skills, personal integrity and professionalism.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation, Australian Standards and Government policy guidelines, which govern safety, engineering design, environmental assessment for the implementation of engineering projects.
- Experience in the management of construction contracts.
- Experience in team management, resource management and leadership roles.
- A current Drivers Licence.
- High level of technical knowledge in the construction of substation or transmission line assets.
