The company

Our client, Capital Group is the largest, privately owned transport and logistics business in the country with revenues exceeding $300M. They focus on providing same day transport solutions through courier and taxi truck services, with supporting logistics and warehousing to provide a complete solution for their customers.

Over the past 30 years they have built a reputation of promoting from within the business and developing a culture of providing support, mentorship and ongoing training ensuring staff are developed into both great leaders and business professionals.

The role

In this newly created role, the National Sustainability Coordinator will report directly to the National HSEQ Manager. This role will be responsible for embedding the sustainability strategy ensuring that it aligns with the values and objectives of the business. The role will also assist and guide the state teams in sustainability matters to integrate sustainability practices into the operations of the business.

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Manage the collection, verification, and analysis of sustainability data to support reporting and strategic decision-making.
  • Perform data analysis on sustainability metrics, strategic objectives or targets and overall business performance.
  • Collaborate with the sustainability committee to identify potential initiatives, and value -adding industry practices aligned with legislation, standards and codes.
  • Develop and deliver communication and engagement pieces to raise awareness of the business’ sustainability initiatives.
  • Educate and train employees on sustainable practices, fostering a culture of sustainable practices.
  • Coordinate sustainability initiatives across the business in all states.
  • Stay up to date with best practices, emerging technologies, and regulatory requirements to ensure the business stays informed.

About You

You are a sustainability professional who thrives working in a fast-paced environment, where you are required to roll up your sleeves to get the job done. Known for being collaborative and proactive, you are comfortable engaging with a wide range of people including Executives. You have a strong ability to manage your time effectively and prioritise what needs to be achieved to deliver success.

In addition, you will possess:

  • 2 - 5 years’ experience working in a similar sustainability role.
  • Experience working collaboratively across business divisions to achieve team outcomes.
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting the delivery of environmental sustainability projects including reporting.
  • Transport and/or logistics industry experience (desirable)
  • Tertiary degree in Engineering, Science, Sustainability, or other relevant discipline (desirable)
