The Opportunity
Your role at UniSuper involves creating a risk-aware culture within the Member & Advice department through embedded first-line risk management. As UniSuper grows, you'll partner closely with the Advice Leadership Team and other departments to enable strong risk management and seize strategic opportunities.
As part of a team of 6 risk professionals you will identify and manage risks impacting the Advice & Education department. Collaborate with key stakeholders to strengthen controls and adopt new business processes through risk management oversight, controls assurance, testing and reporting as UniSuper's governance model matures.
As the Advice Risk Manager, you will assess how change is delivered into our business and manage any associated risks. Simultaneously, you'll raise awareness and hone decision-making techniques.
Additional key responsibilities include:
- As a Line 1 Risk Manager, represent your relevant department across the risk community at UniSuper discussing risk and compliance topics impacting the business
- Work closely with the Advice leadership team to support their business unit objectives and your second-line advisory partner will help you embed risk management capability in the business
- Support Internal Audit and assurance testing activities in accordance with UniSuper's Assurance Map
- Prepare (and present) reports to the Advice department Risk Committees relating to findings, trends, and corrective measures
About You
In this exciting new role, you will be an integral part of the transformative journey that shapes how we deliver exceptional customer experiences and where our customers need us most. For this reason, we are looking for someone who has experience working in a fast moving transformation environment and is comfortable working with a degree of ambiguity.
You will have extensive Risk Management experience with a very high degree of listening, engagement, and rapid adaptive delivery skills.
With a strong understanding of risk management frameworks and experience adapting them to specific organizational needs, you will also hold the following experience and skills:
In addition, you should ideally be able to demonstrate:
- At least 5 years' experience within Line 1 or 2 risk (must have min 1year Line 1 experience)
- Demonstrated experience within financial planning environments
- Influencing and consulting skills with the ability to build relationships with stakeholders at all levels
- Ability to analyse/identify risks and opportunities and recommend appropriate actions.
- Experience in managing audit and assurance activities across Line 1 or risk environments
- Ability to think critically and analytically and use data driven insights to achieve risk / assurance outcomes
