Your new role

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as an Associate to Associate Director, strengthening our leadership in the Buildings & Property sector. Working closely with our Building Services Director, you will be involved in people management, project management, and providing guidance on the technical delivery of various tier 1 and tier 2 buildings projects.

Our Property and Buildings team is a community of built environment experts, driven by a passion to create sustainable, accessible, and resilient communities. Through powerful partnerships and multidisciplinary collaboration, we design places to deliver social, environmental and financial value for clients around our changing world.

What you’ll do

You will be part of a wider network of professional engineers working on both local and national projects. Specific duties will include, but are not limited to:

  1. Leading the technical design on electrical services, including design management, for medium to large multi-disciplinary projects.
  2. Deliver best practice and outcomes for clients, saving on costs and time
  3. Acting as a Project Lead and managing a small team of Electrical Engineers and Drafters
  4. Communicate effectively with all external and internal stakeholders and project teams
  5. Be a supporting figure and mentor for lesser experienced engineers
  6. Build solid client relationships and recognize business development opportunities (desirable)
  7. Represent and promote the business with the local and regional markets
  8. Contribute to the development of the business unit against strategic goals
About you

Hold a recognized Tertiary Qualification in Electrical Engineering. Demonstrate expertise in designing electrical systems. Have the ability to coordinate and understand relevant building services disciplines, including Mechanical, Hydraulic, Fire Protection, and Environmentally Sustainable Design. Proven project experience in the building services sector across Infrastructure, Property & Buildings, Defence, Healthcare, Educational, and/or Mission Critical facilities. Possess a working knowledge of Australian building codes and standards, local NT experience an advantage. Ensure registration (or eligibility for registration) in the professional engineer register of the relevant state for the building/construction industry. Demonstrate a history of effectively managing competing priorities, prioritizing work, and meeting tight deadlines. Ability to coordinate with internal and external stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle. Capable project and people leader - train, and mentor junior engineers, coupled with effective communication skills at all levels. Knowledge of project finance and commercials an advantage
