This opportunity is with Miramar Underwriting Agency, a general insurance underwriting agency that provides business insurance solutions tailored to the client needs of general insurance brokers. As a wholly owned subsidiary of Steadfast Group Pty Ltd, we act on behalf of a number of insurance companies in Australia and internationally. Our aim is to provide innovative solutions for property, liability and engineering risks to protect businesses against financial loss.
A bit about our opportunity
As a Liability Underwriter, you will provide underwriting services to the broker market. Your day-to-day tasks will include liaising with brokers and internal staff on policy terms and conditions alongside assisting the company in marketing its brand to the broker network.
In this role, you will:
- Develop new client relationships whilst proactively identifying client requirements
- Underwriting of new business and renewal policies
- Preparation and Issuance of new business, renewals and endorsements
- Take queries from brokers
A bit about you
To be successful in this role, you will possess:
- A highly engaging customer approach combined with the ability to actively manage demanding customers
- Minimum of 3 years' experience within the Insurance / Underwriting Industry
- Previous formal training and hold a Tier 2 certification
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and exceptional attention to detail
- A proactive and goal-oriented working style, in which you think outside the box and are able to provide consistent suggestions and improvements
- A high degree of organisational skills and the ability to adapt quickly to change
- Effective time management skills where you can deal with multiple tasks whilst meeting reporting deadlines
- The ability to communicate at all levels in a multiple stakeholder environment- liaison with clients, external service providers and other departments
