From Civil Landscape construction, Landscape Maintenance, Building Services, Irrigation, Environmental Services and Sports Turf/Golf Course management. We currently have offices in Sydney, Newcastle, Wollongong, Brisbane, Melbourne, Geelong and Auckland.
Summary:
The Senior Contracts Manager is a key leadership role within our company, bridging our Estimating, Civil, and Landscape Construction divisions. This position is responsible for leading procurement processes, managing the transition from estimating to construction, and ensuring all projects meet our commercial requirements. With a strong focus on contract management, compliance, and optimization, the Senior Contracts Manager plays a pivotal role in safeguarding the company’s financial health and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities and Role Duties:
- Contract Management: Oversee the preparation, review, negotiation, and execution of contracts for civil and landscape construction projects, ensuring compliance with legal, regulatory, and company standards.
- Procurement Leadership: Lead procurement strategies and processes, including tendering, supplier selection, and contract negotiation, to achieve competitive pricing and exceptional delivery and service.
- Project Transition Management: Facilitate seamless transitions from estimating to project start-up, ensuring continuity and alignment with project and contractual obligations.
- Commercial Compliance: Monitor project progress and expenditures against contractual milestones and budgets. Identify and address any deviations to protect commercial interests.
- Programme Management: Collaborate with project managers to ensure all project management programmes are up-to-date and that all commercial compliance issues, such as RFIs, delays, lead times, and subcontractor management, are effectively managed.
- Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate contractual and commercial risks across projects. Implement strategies to minimize potential impacts on the business.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, finance teams, and external stakeholders, including suppliers and subcontractors, to ensure contract compliance, effective communication, and resolution of contractual issues.
- Performance Reporting: Provide regular reports on contract status, compliance, and risk to senior management, enabling informed decision-making.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Contract Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in contract administration, preferably in a senior role.
- In-depth knowledge of Australian contract law and regulations.
- Recent experience with either a Tier 1 subcontractor or Tier 1/2 principal contractor within the construction or civil sectors.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and contract management software.
