About the Role
The Manager, Risk Education and Continuous Improvement manages a small team that builds Risk, Compliance and Resilience capability across the department to support engagement in RCR programs that enable the department to effectively meet its Strategic priorities, protect organisational value and minimise the impact of disruption. The role will lead engagements with subject matter experts to design and deliver education strategies and programs, and procurement activities as required to deliver technology and educational solutions that support capability uplift.
As a member of the RCR Leadership Team you will lead whole of branch performance monitoring, establishing and monitoring key metrics that measure the success of branch programs and data compilation activities that contribute to RCR reporting.
- Stakeholder management: Engage with key internal and external stakeholders and lead collaborative partnerships across DTP.
- Project/service delivery: Lead special projects, undertake research and manage discreet work assignments, including the provision of regular progress reports to stakeholders and the identification and escalation of major issues with recommendations.
- Communications: Oversee and lead the preparation and presentation of high-quality analysis, complex reports, educational resources, brief submissions and procurement documentation for key programs of work.
- Continuous improvement: innovative solutions that drive improved communications, engagement and performance reporting have been explored and implemented.
Key Selection Criteria
To be successful in the role the ideal candidate will possess experience in leading a small team with strong collaborative skills and be capable of identifying opportunities for inter-team collaboration to achieve outcomes.

- Experienced in coaching others in using “systems thinking” to solve problems and create solutions.
- Able to hold self and team accountable to public sector values and agreed performance standards; Supports achievement of outcomes by anticipating and resolving issues.
- Establishes and implement actions to increase level of people engagement; Creates opportunities for recognising performance.
Qualifications and Experience
Mandatory
- Demonstrated experience in leading the development of strategies, policies, projects and evaluation frameworks that build and assess capability and engagement within a complex organization.
- Leading small teams and working collaboratively with others to design and implement continuous improvement projects, including high quality executive report.
- Demonstrated experience in technology system procurement and implementation.
