Details: The City Renewal Authority is seeking a Senior Project Manager for our UNSW City Campus Development Co-ordination team.
This team has a single business unit function - the integrated co-ordination and management of the UNSW City Campus Master Plan and the Precinct Deed (Deed). The establishment of the new campus in the City Centre is a significant long-term renewal initiative managed by the Authority. The role offers interesting and fulfilling work in a unique statutory authority environment where you can have a positive impact on the Canberra community.
The Senior Project Manager reports to the Project Director, UNSW. This is an exciting management role and is key to shaping quality project outcomes. The project Deed defines requirements for ACT Government review and approval of UNSW’s development of a high-quality sustainable urban renewal built and landscape environment. You would provide project management, policy, technical and/ or professional advice to deliver the outcomes of the Deed contract suite, and:
- are an effective communicator and negotiator, able to liaise with internal and external stakeholders.
- have the ability to effectively allocate and prioritise tasks.
- are results driven and passionate about sustainable city renewal.
- enjoy delivering complex large-scale development within a contract and due diligence governance framework.

- Understand the need to create and maintain momentum to achieve outcomes.
- Ability to deliver innovative solutions to complex problems.
- Able to manage the cross-directorate project inputs and communications.
- Well-established skills in managing teams.
- Knowledge of compliance with legislative frameworks, regulations, and government decision making processes.
- Knowledge of procurement and contract management activities within ACT Government is highly desirable.
Note: This is a temporary position available immediately for a period of three months with the possibility of extension up to six months. Remote working can be facilitated for the suitable applicant, noting it will be necessary to attend the office under a hybrid working arrangement as required. This position will be moving to a new workplace designed for activity-based working (ABW). Under ABW arrangements, officers will not have a designated workstation/desk. This position is available to ACT Government officers and employees only.
