Your new company
Located in the CBD. Part-time 3 to 4 month contract role with a hybrid working arrangement (3 days a week with 2 days in the office).
Your new role
- Manage the tail end of the payroll transition project to ensure the new system is fit-for-purpose and meets the future needs of the business.
- Accurately process the periodic pay runs for staff and directors.
- Demonstrate a good understanding of company structure, staff positions and statutory obligations relating to the staffing structure.
- Accurately maintain staff master record details (including onboarding and offboarding) in the payroll system.
- Identifying and managing any superannuation cap requirements for senior staff and for directors with different income streams.
- Calculation and reconciliation of monthly payroll tax and superannuation payments.
- Work in partnership with the HR team and external contractors to bring payroll partially inhouse.
- Test existing modules in the current and new system.
- Manage payroll enquiries from business stakeholders and employees.
- Ongoing payroll projects including process improvement and optimisation.
- Work closely with the broader HR team in regard to payroll processes along the employee lifecycle.
- Supporting the Finance and HR Team with completion of statutory payments.
- Assisting with the preparation of payroll reports for relevant distribution managers, Heads-of and compliance teams.
- Preparation and processing of other statutory payments such as payroll taxes, employee deductions, etc.
- Assist with reconciliation of payroll payments for external reporting, including disclosures in the Financial Statements.
- Assist with reconciliation of payroll data, such as monthly payroll, leave liability and liability journals to the general ledger.
- Prepare, balance & reconcile payroll, PAYE, FBT, Superannuation, Workers Compensation & other statutory payments.
- End-to-end payroll experience with a strong background in a medium-sized corporate or professional service environment.
- Comprehensive technical knowledge of Payroll systems, PAYG, Payroll Tax, FBT, salary sacrificing and superannuation, statutory frameworks, and legislative requirements.
- Comprehensive experience working with ADP Payroll systems (including employee self-service), with at least 5 years' experience in payroll.
- Ability to interpret EBA and employment contract provisions and understand the practical implications of such application.
- Advanced ability in Microsoft Excel formulas and functions (e.g. VLookUp, if/sumif functions, iferror, etc)
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Previous experience working within a government organisation is desirable.
- Part-time hybrid role.
- $52 - $55 per hour depending on experience.
