Cross River Rail will transform the way we travel to, from and through Brisbane in the future. It will be a catalyst for 10 years of wider rail transformation across the whole of South East Queensland and it is already playing a key role in how we prepare for the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Cross River Rail is a new 10.2km rail line including 5.9km of twin tunnels running under the Brisbane River and CBD. It includes the delivery of four new underground stations, two new above-ground stations, accessibility rebuilds for six stations, the construction of three new stations on the Gold Coast, and the introduction of a new world-class ‘ETCS' signalling system.

About the Role
- This position supports the Program Information Manager in managing and coordinating the Program Information team's reporting development and visualization efforts for all Program and Project Controls work performance information.
- Responsibilities include leading a team of data analysts and data engineers in identifying, collecting, analyzing, and reporting key project controls and work performance data across civil, rail, and system design, construction, testing, commissioning, and assurance.
- This work is critical in the design of the key project information reporting tools, analysis of project progress, and identification and quantification of project risks for the Tunnels, Stations and Development (TSD), Rail, Integration and Systems (RIS), European Train Control Systems (ETCS), New Gold Coast Stations (NGCS) and Integrated Delivery projects. The output from this work is used to inform individual projects teams on project performance as well as guiding Project Delivery and Executive teams’ decision making and action.
- The Reporting Practice Lead collaborates with the Data and Reporting Services team and the broader Program Controls team to develop Program Information products aligning with the Delivery Authority's data strategy and governance protocols. The incumbent is instrumental in transforming project data into actionable insights that will inform decision-making and accurate reporting.
- Success in this role will require a blend of project management and communication skills to effectively bridge the gap between project data manipulation and meaningful business insights.
Please note that this opportunity is offered as a contract role until August 2026 with possibility of extension.
Key Responsibilities:
As the Reporting Practice Lead, your primary responsibility will be to manage the development and implementation of an exemplary reporting development and visualization service. Additionally, you will be tasked with providing guidance, oversight, and leadership to a team of data analysts in pursuit of this objective.
Your key responsibilities include:
- Lead a high-performance team with a focus on open communication and collaboration with clear team goals set to align efforts to the Program Information roadmap.
- Support the development and implementation of the Program Information Operating Model and supporting change and communication plans, policies and working procedures.
- Overseeing day-to-day operations to drive a high level of operational discipline, support team performance using Jira and other tools as relevant.
- Prioritisation and delegation of tasks and setting deadlines for the team to support monthly review cycles with key program and project information.
- Introduce team initiatives to motivate and encourage high performance and creativity.
- Provide coaching and support with troubleshooting or solution architecture.
- Execute any reviews and enhancements of the Program Information Team’s Service Offering and Program of Work.
About You:
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following key competencies:
- Proven experience (5+ years) in project and/or change management as a team leader or supervisor in performance, data analysis, business intelligence development and data visualisation business areas. In-depth knowledge of performance metrics and reporting.
- Demonstrated ability to implement creative and innovative approaches to data visualisation.
- Proficiency in Power BI and an understanding of data modelling concepts and ETL processes.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and develop collaborative partnerships.
- Demonstrated ability to establish team structure and organisation to deliver performance reporting tools with a focus on data-driven decision-making coupled with strong problem-solving skills.
- Proven ability to adopt industry best practice frameworks and processes.
- Experience in working with large-scale infrastructure projects would be highly desirable.
