YOUR ROLE
The Cyber Security Team is a function that is designed to ensure cyber security and privacy across MACS offices and schools. The team provides services in security assurance, security risk management and incident handling. The Security Controls and Assurance Lead collaborates with the team to ensure the timely and effective delivery of security services to MACS offices and schools. Their primary responsibilities include analyzing and communicating security information, assessing compliance, and managing risks.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Conduct risk assessments and identify potential compliance gaps.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and implement risk mitigation strategies.
- Monitor and evaluate compliance with regulations, policies, and standards.
- Maintain documentation related to governance, risk, and compliance activities.
- Assist in incident response and investigations related to security breaches or policy violations.
- Stay informed about industry best practices and changes in regulations.
- Provide recommendations for improving risk management processes.
- Participate in audits and assessments to ensure adherence to compliance requirements.
- Gather security metrics and assist in report preparation
ABOUT YOU
- Demonstrated commitment to confidentiality
- Experience working in an IT services environment with a focus on problem resolution
- High attention to detail and accuracy, particularly in correlating data from multiple sources and searching for patterns and relationships
- Good understanding of IT infrastructure
- Well-developed interpersonal skills, including the capability to communicate effectively with schools and external stakeholders
- Experience as a member of a cyber incident response team
- Knowledge of cyber security frameworks such as NIST CSF and ACSC Essential Eight
- Ability to use Excel, SQL and shell scripting for data manipulation
