The National Project Officer – Policy Development is responsible for researching, drafting, and developing organisational policy documents that guide EREA Flexible School Ltd operations, procedures, and decision-making processes. The role will work collaboratively with stakeholders and subject matter experts to develop policies and procedures that are fit for purpose, support the safety, protection and wellbeing of young people and comply with regulatory and organisational requirements under the direction of the Director of Risk and Compliance.

This position is Fixed Term, Full Time until December 2024 (possibility of extension) with a commencement date as soon as can be negotiated.

Edmund Rice Education Australia (EREA) Flexible Schools Ltd educates over 2,200 young people in 22 Flexible Learning Schools (12 based in Queensland and 10 other schools across Australia) and serves young people who experience complex educational, social or psychological situations which demand unique responses. They enable young people to engage in education in a supported learning environment through a methodology based on trauma informed practice, in which the principles of operation (Honesty, Respect, Participation, Safe & Legal) are embedded.

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Strong project management and organisational skills with the ability to multitask, prioritise and work autonomously.
  • Familiarity with legal and regulatory frameworks related to Education and EREA Flexible Schools Ltd.
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
