About the Role
The position entail:
- 5 years plus of proven experience as a consulting Hydraulics engineer in the Australian market.
- Be experienced in design and documentation of general and specialist building services systems for health, government, industrial, commercial etc type projects
- Have requisite knowledge and understanding of what is expected in terms of MEP engineering design to meet NCC, Australian Standards requirements and Council and water authority approval requirements.
- Be proficient in AutoCAD and REVIT MEP drafting for building services.
- Possess good written and verbal communication skills which will require general computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite, predominantly Word and Excel
- Ideally be degree qualified in an engineering discipline and Registered as a Professional Engineer with the Building Licensing Authority in Australia.

- Senior Hydraulic Engineer
- Associate Hydraulic Engineer
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and conduct discipline-specific professional engineering work, including writing specifications, general design work and documentation production in co-ordination with other disciplines, with limited supervision.
- Assist the Project Leader on selected projects.
- Provide high quality client service delivery in relation to outputs produced for both internal and external clients in accordance with Meinhardt’s quality technical standards.
- Keep an up-to-date working knowledge of relevant design techniques, technical standards, codes of practice and systems and procedures.
- Provide input/feedback for the preparation of business plans for the Property & Buildings division and be active in their implementation.
- Help solve client/project team’s problems by lateral thinking and creating innovative solutions.
- Proactive in driving improvement initiatives in conjunction with agreed business plans.
Skills & Experience
- Proven industry experience of 5+ years in the various aspects of engineering design with emphasis on successful delivery of discipline projects, including identifying project risks, problem solving, communicating issues and delivering solutions.
- Formal tertiary qualifications in a Mechanical Engineering discipline or a closely related engineering discipline.
- Knowledge & understanding of and ability to apply sustainable and cost-effective design principles to discipline engineering solutions.
- Knowledge and understanding of documentation and current issues related to own and other disciplines, including external sub-consultants.
- Understanding and appreciation of BIM and REVIT.
- Highly productive with both strong team ethics and the ability to work independently.
- Ability to respond to changing circumstances and to provide innovative solutions to various engineering issues.
- Membership (or eligibility to be Member) of Engineers Australia or equivalent other international institution is required.
- Current driver's license
