Overview of role:

The Technical Architect will act as the central point of contact for technical coordination activities on infrastructure/environment projects.

Key Deliverables:

  • Act as the primary contact point for the Project Manager requiring technical teams to undertake project related tasks and activities.
  • Coordinate, direct and monitor environment-based activities across on premise and cloud based environments delivered through multiple suppliers within the project to ensure solution quality and timely delivery.
  • Oversee the development of relevant Infrastructure/Environment Design documentation (based on architectural documentation provided by the project) to direct development, remediation, build and release activities for the application streams.
  • Identification, ownership and resolution of risks and issues pertaining to the technical infrastructure.

Specialist Skills:

  • AWS experience
  • Cloud based technology experience
  • Both solution and Integration architect experience is highly desirable
  • Maintains an in-depth knowledge of specific technical specialisms, and provides expert advice regarding their application. Can supervise specialist technical consultancy. The specialism can be aspects of information or communication technology, technique, method, and product or application area.
  • Uses appropriate tools, including logical models of components and interfaces, to contribute to the development of systems architectures in specific business or functional areas. Produces detailed component specifications and translates these into detailed designs for implementation using selected products. Within a business change programme, assists in the preparation of technical plans and cooperates with business assurance and project staff to ensure that appropriate technical resources are made available. Provides advice on technical aspects of system development and integration (including requests for changes, deviations from specifications, etc.) and ensures that relevant technical strategies, policies, standards and practices are applied correctly.
  • Controls system design practice within an enterprise or industry architecture. Influences industry-based models for the development of new technology applications. Develops effective implementation and procurement strategies, consistent with business needs.
  • Designs and builds integration components and interfaces. Leads practical integration work under the technical direction of the system /service designer. May contribute to the overall design of the service. May define the technical criteria for product/component selection. Contributes to decisions about tools, methods and approaches.

Experience:
Significant experience in designing and developing solutions using the following technologies:
o Networking including Cisco Local, Campus and WAN services
o Audio Visual (AV) systems Including Crestron and MS Teams and other collaboration services
o Telephony / Voice systems including Avaya Platforms and Voice recording services
