Senior Control System Engineer

WestConnex is Australia’s largest road project, linking Sydney’s west and southwest with the city, airport and port in a 33 km continuous motorway. The M6 Stage 1 will deliver the missing link from Sydney’s south to the wider Sydney motorway network making journeys easier, faster and safer. It will remove more than 2,000 trucks a day from surface roads, and help return local streets to local communities.
As part of the PMCS team, this role will be responsible for:
- Technical requirements review and analysis
- Development of system functional design documentation
- PLC software/hardware components development, system implementation, configuration, testing and commissioning
- Development, review and update of design documents, including drawings
- Liaising with clients and third-party vendors on aspects of the design and construction, providing feedback or request for information to the designer
- Review vendor’s specifications, technical information, datasheets, etc.
Requirements:
The preferred candidate will bring the following:
- Bachelor degree in Industrial Electronics and Automation, Electronic, Electrical, Mechatronics, or similar field of engineering
- Over 5 years of experience in development, integration, testing and commissioning of PLC-based automation and control systems
- Relevant experience in the delivery of Plant Management and Control Systems (PMCS) for tunnel projects
- Strong knowledge of PLC, SCADA or DCS technologies – Rockwell (Allen Bradley), Schneider (Modicon), Siemens S7, Citect
- Strong experience with PLC Programming skills (e.g. Ladder, STL, Function Blocks)
- Office Tools: Word, Excel, Visio, etc.
