About the role:
We are currently seeking an experienced and dedicated individual to join our team as a Finance Operations Manager. Reporting directly to the Executive Manager, Finance, this role will be responsible for overseeing and managing various finance operations, including accounts payable and receivable, credit card reconciliation, vendor management, inter-entity transactions, and defined benefit cost recovery processes.
We are seeking a highly impactful individual for a key role that will provide essential service and support to our leadership group. As part of this role, you will be responsible for delivering comprehensive guidance on a wide range of finance-related strategies, policies, and procedures. Including a focus on adherence to our business objectives, directions, and all relevant legislative requirements.
This role will play a critical part in managing and further developing the financial operations of Hostplus. Ensuring compliance with applicable legislation, policies, and professional standards. This will include monitoring the effectiveness of outsourced accounting systems, whilst maintaining the security and integrity of Hostplus' accounting data.
In addition, this position holds the responsibility of overseeing the application of GST across all accounting transactions, and ensuring the timely completion of all indirect taxation obligations of Hostplus, which includes the lodgement of business/instalment activity statements and fringe benefits tax return. Furthermore, an important aspect of this role involves managing the associated risks related to these activities and ensuring compliance.
Importantly, this role will collaborate with the broader team and serve as a passionate and supportive leader, overseeing the management of an Assistant Finance Analyst and an Accounts Payable Officer.
About you:
We are seeking an analytical, energetic and strong leader with an extensive experience within finance operations, including a sound knowledge of the philosophy of industry funds, exceptional stakeholder management skills and someone who is driven to achieve quality outcomes.
Further to this exceptional communication skills, and a commitment to fostering collaboration, transparency, and accountability are essential. You will hold a business-related degree and be CA/CPA qualified and have a strong knowledge of transactional accounting, customer and stakeholder management, and application of GST and related regulatory obligations.
