The Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development (DPIRD) leads the sustainable development of Western Australia’s regions and agriculture, aquaculture, food and fisheries sectors. In everything we do, we take an approach to protect, grow, and innovate WA’s economy, community and environment.
About the opportunity
We have two (2) 48 month fixed-term Executive Director roles available for immediate filling.
In the Executive Director Regional Business Development role, you will work across regional business programs and initiatives in carbon farming, land & water development, regional digital connectivity, northern business development, and other strategic programs. In this leadership role, you will have the opportunity to make a positive difference in the regional businesses and industries across the State.
In the Executive Director Agribusiness, Food and Trade role, you will lead the directorate to provide: market access, and trade and investment services, for the State’s primary industries; knowledge and insights to and about, and enabling support for, agribusinesses across the State; and WA food provenance, promotion, and capacity building. This role supports both metropolitan and regional agribusiness, and has strong links with State and federal partners on trade and market access.
Both positions form part of the Department’s executive leadership team and are responsible for working across the Department and with other agencies and industry to: provide strategic leadership, advice (including to ministers) and influence; facilitate partnerships and build capability; oversee State Government investments; and execute priority initiatives.
