Housing Delivery provide and influence the provision of safe, secure, affordable, and appropriate housing to the people of Queensland, and the building of vibrant and connected precincts and communities in which they live. We influence, plan, design, procure and contract the delivery of contemporary housing solutions that meet the needs of our clients, reflect local community needs, and support jobs in regional Queensland. We maintain, upgrade and renew a housing portfolio of over 62,500 dwellings to ensure our tenants are safe, secure and in housing that continues to meet their needs

As the Senior Property Officer, you will be responsible for coordinating the department's response to access and easement requests over public housing properties from members of the public, property developers, councils and other government agencies. The role also facilitates social housing development by dealing with adjoining owners.

Key resposibilities include:

  • Address impacts of access and easement requests on the department's clients and property interests.
  • Negotiate to secure access and easements on sites adjoining social housing properties to facilitate department activities.
  • Liaise with the Principal Property Advisor, Manager, Director, Housing Service Centre staff, Legal Services, external consultants and the proponents to ensure the department's interests are protected.
  • Monitor the progress of access and easement matters to facilitate regular reporting to the Manager and Director including reporting of complex or contentious issues.
  • Prepare executive correspondence to obtain approvals to take significant actions e.g. burdening department land with an easement.
  • Supervise the Property Support Officer (Leasing) to ensure accurate and timely processing of accounts payable and accounts receivable matters.
  • Provide timely well researched advice and support to senior management in addressing property management issues.
  • Project management, property development and leasing skills would be beneficial in conducting this operational role.
  • Supporting and helping maintain a workplace safety culture by ensuring that all policies and practices concerning Workplace Health and Safety are applied and a part of day-to-day operations.
