ini a ve, funded by the State of Salzburg, the Paris Lodron University Salzburg, Austria, is
seeking to appoint a

collabora on with Chris ne Bauer, EXDIGIT Professor of Interac ve Intelligent Systems. By
EXDIGIT Research College and the exis ng research groups within the Faculty of Digital and
Analy cal Sciences of the Paris Lodron University Salzburg and Salzburg Research.
and share a strong interest in the topic of **recommender systems**. Ideally, they will focus on
one or more of the following areas:
- fairness in recommender systems;
- music recommender systems; or
- societal implica ons of recommender systems.
Further topics are welcome as long as they match the general vision outlined.
- a background in Data Science, Ar ficial Intelligence, Computer Science, Informa on
Science, Computa onal Social Sciences, Human‐Computer Interac on, or a related
field;
- a strong interest in conduc ng interdisciplinary research;
- well‐developed programming skills (as needed for, e.g., offline evalua on);
- an interest in interac ng with humans in research (e.g., ques onnaires, experiments,
interviews);
- an interest in data science;
- a strong interest in algorithmic cura on, adapta on, and personaliza on;
- good communica ve skills in English, both in wri ng and speech;
- an interest in the music sector or a related field in entertainment is a plus.
in journals, help organizing scien fic events, and support the acquisi on of third‐party
funding. Teaching assignments may be agreed upon separately.

will be allocated to Employment Group B1 (EUR 2,684.10 gross for 30 hours/week; monthly
salary, paid 14 mes a year).
