VIRTUAL VEHICLE is an internationally successful research and development center for virtual vehicle technologies. We deal with future vehicle concepts and future development processes. With over 300 employees, we are the largest research center for virtual vehicle development in Europe. We are working on safe, environmentally friendly and affordable vehicles of the future.

The group "Contextual Information Systems & Operational Insights" consists of about 20 experts from the fields of computer science, software development and data science. In collaborative research projects with industry and science partners, we work on technical innovations along the vehicle, journey and driver data value chain. Our goal is to advance context-based information systems and data-driven services for vehicle operation and to develop new methods for generating insights into the use of vehicles and vehicle fleets with our partners. We work at the exciting intersection of user-centric software systems and data science (data analytics, edge/cloud computing, computer vision, ML/AI, Big Data).

Tasks

Team organization, development & mentoring
- You are the first point of contact for your team members (currently about 5 colleagues), provide an inspiring, collaborative environment as well as strength-oriented structures and empower/mentor your team members to solve problems independently.
- You keep track of the big picture of the team and support a targeted technical development across different projects.
- You also take care of the organisational matters of the team, such as resource planning, time allocation, staff appraisals or individual further training measures.

Coordination and contribution in projects with a focus on automotive data science
- You develop modern solution ideas and concepts for data-related tasks in coordination with partners from industry and science; thereby you are not afraid to take on content-related tasks yourself.

Participation in the initiation of new research activities & in the service development
- You plan initiation activities of the team in coordination with the group lead and realize new research activities or services with data science topics in cooperation with partners and customers.Mid-term, you will support the development of a new, business-oriented service portfolio based on our data-driven methods and technologies.

**Requirements**:

- Degree (at least Master level) in Technical Mathematics, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Business Information Systems, Computer Science or comparable studies with an analytical focus.
- Empathic person with high communication skills.
- Professional experience ( >3 years) with technical focus in Data Science / Data Analytics environment.
- First experience in project management (or team management) and in dealing with customers / partners, ideally in the context of funded research projects (FFG, Horizon 2020, Horizon Europe).
- Know-how and hands-on experience in topics such as edge/cloud computing, data pipelines, computer vision, ML/AI, big data and related technologies.
- Practical experience with programming languages and frameworks in the data science environment (R, Python).
- Problem-solving attitude, organizational skills, and ability to think strategically and connected.Very good knowledge of German and English, both written and spoken.

The minimum annual salary, depending on qualification and classification, is EUR 58,800 gross (fulltime, 40h). We guarantee, however, a higher salary according to your qualifications and experience.
