We are recruiting for a field-based

**Medical Liaison Manager (f/m/d)**

**About the role**

The Medical Liaison Manager (f/m/d) acts as a trusted and engaged medical contact for respective assigned Therapeutic Areas (TA) at the Austrian Affiliate, Biogen. The Medical Liaison Manager (f/m/d) establishes the strategy and defines medical tactics in close collaboration with crossfunctions within the affiliate and regional and global functions in alignment with the global strategy.
- He/she is an expert in respective TAs and ensures excellence in Medical Affairs, able to translate highly complex medical and scientific content into tactics and has medical operations expertise /skills in managing medical projects, developing country medical plans that address patient needs
- The Medical Liaison Manager provides strong expertise and develops and strengthens strong sustained relationships and partnerships with Key Medical Experts (KMEs).
- He/She has a clear understanding of the needs of customers and supports them for their patients to get access to treatment. As a Subject Matter Expert in the TA, he/she clearly communicates accurate key medical/scientific information internally and externally.
- The Medical Liaison Manager identifies opportunities or evolving standards of care, and supports innovative scientific projects, develops educational medical programs for customers and for the affiliate. He /She close collaborates and aligns with the regional and global teams of the TA.
- The Medical Liaison Manager strongly supports the local Medical Affairs team as well as crossfunctional Commercial, Value & Access and any other function, working closely and aligning with the global/regional TA team.
- The Medical Liaison Manager acts as an engaged medical resource at Biogen, living the Biogen elements and values, provides clear guidance to the Medical Team and empowers the team to be talents for the organization.
- This hybrid role is field-based and intends to have approx. 50% of his/her time allocated to field activities and approx. 50% for project management (can be modified as business needs require).

**What You’ll Do**

Develop medical tactical plan in alignment with the regional medical strategy and brand plan, in close cross-functional collaboration. Develop plans of pre-launch activities for potential upcoming rare diseases under research.
- Provide expertise to HCPs and key stakeholders in the TA; Develop strong medical, scientific partnership with external key stakeholders. Acts as a trusted and credible medical scientific partner by engaging in scientific/ medical exchange with HCPs/ stakeholders as appropriate
- Represent local Medical Affairs for the TA for internal and external key stakeholders, and closely collaborate with regional and global medical team of the TA.
- Provide Medical Affairs strategic input and support for late stage development / near launch TAs
- Creates a dynamic environment for innovation and successful implementation of the medical activities in alignment with the strategy
- Develop and maintain up-to-date knowledge of the therapy areas by reviewing the literature, clearly communicate accurate scientific information on purpose to Key Medical Experts and key stakeholders, leading or participating in cross-functional interactions (e.g., scientific congresses, advisory boards, symposia)
- Define, organize and implement medical education events and meetings on face
- to-face or virtual base for different stakeholders.
- Develop KME- and Stakeholder Engagement Plans in accordance with the overall strategic brand plans, in close collaboration with Medical Director and Leadership Team
- Develop and prepare scientific documents for healthcare professionals in close cooperation with the brand team and with EU+
- Lead the management of research projects like IITs, SRAs, phase IV studies, registries, ensuring proper documentation and managing oversight as appropriate.
- Provide advice to global Clinical Operations on early phase trials for pipeline (clinical programs) and phase IV activities
- Responsible for budget calculation and overview related to medical activities and provide input into the affiliate budgeting and planning process
- Provide local support for Drug Safety, Medical Information and Clinical Research/GCO as appropriate
- Provide medical support on regulatory strategies for registration of new products or line extensions, to market access and marketing in product and pricing strategies
- Partner and collaborate with Value & Access to show medical value of approved products relevant to local external stakeholders (payers, HCPs, agencies); this may include developing and executing phase IV studies, registries, etc.
- Provide internal medical trainings on disease area and product to local affiliate functions, such as V&A, Marketing, Commercial
- Review promotional and scientific materials for medical accuracy and compliance with applicable guidelines and
