Fellows will also be encouraged to be an active part of the Wharton research community, including within the Management department and the Mack Institute.
Job Responsibilities
- Reviewing relevant literature and providing detailed outlines and/or literature reviews
- Preparing supporting materials for faculty research papers such as research reports, graphs, tables, data descriptions, appendices, etc.
- Analyzing data requirements and researching data sources
- Designing and implementing surveys and experiments
- Scraping data from websites
- Processing large files with raw data
- Designing, implementing, merging, and maintaining research databases and database dictionaries
- Performing statistical and econometric analyses; designing and implementing machine learning algorithms
Independent thinking, a deep understanding of empirical social science research and statistics, and self-motivation are critical for this position. The ability to work proficiently in most phases of data management and data analytics is essential.
**Qualifications**:
- BA/BS in economics, social sciences, statistics, mathematics, computer science or other closely-related discipline is required
- 1-2 years work experience required, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Previous experience as a research assistant or pursuit of independent research is preferred.
- Computer programming skills are necessary; proved data analysis skills are required
