We are a leading research organisation in the area wood and wood-related renewable resources in Europe. Our core competences are materials research and process technology along the complete value chain - from raw material to finished products. We develop methods and basics and perform applied research on the economy-science interface, in order to enable resource-efficient management in the circular bioeconomy.
For support in 3 years industrial project, we are offering a
**PhD Position (f/m/d)**:
**Your responsibility**:
Development of chemical and biological methods for reduction of melamine and its degradation products/derivatives from wastewater streams in the wood processing industry.
**Your qualification**:
- University degree (chemistry, technical chemistry, process engineering, materials science) or comparable education
- Knowledge of chemical analysis, in particular instrumental analysis (HPLC-DAD, HPLC-MS/GC-MS) of natural substances
- Knowledge of wood chemistry and the analysis of wood constituents is an advantage
- Experience in handling research projects is desirable but not a mandatory requirement
- Good written and spoken English skills
- Creativity, motivation and ability to work in a team
- Initiative, independence and self-organisation
- Completion of a doctoral programme is desired
