At the **Institute of Computer Engineering, in the Research Unit of Automation Systems** TU Wien is offering a position as university assistant (post-doc) limited to expected 3 years for 40 hours/week. Expected start: December 2023. We are researching concepts for the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT), focusing on the digitalization aspects of automation technology in the domains of industrial and building automation as well as energy networks. For these domains, IT/OT system architectures are designed and implemented with a particular focus on safety and security.

**Tasks**:

- Research and project activities in the field of Industrial Internet of Things with a focus on integrated safety & security aspects
- Ability to develop methods, concepts, as well as their realization and evaluation of IT/OT system architectures
- Deep interest in scientific problems and the motivation for independent and goal-oriented research
- Acquiring project funds and contributing to scientific projects
- Teaching in German and English, supervision of students (TU Wien supports German language courses)
- Participation in organizational and administrative tasks of the research unit and the faculty

**Your profile**:

- Experience in national and international research cooperation as well as in project management of research projects is considered an advantage
- Interest and pleasure in research and working with students
- Organizational and analytical skills as well as a structured way of working
- High level of commitment and team spirit
- Excellent knowledge of English and very good communication skills; Knowledge of German level B2 (TU Wien supports German language courses).

Entry level salary is determined by the pay grade B1 of the Austrian collective agreement for university staff. This is a minimum of currently EUR 4,351.90/month gross, 14 times/year for 40 hours/week. Relevant working experiences may increase the monthly income.
