**University Assistant (prae doc)**
**at **the **Department of Inorganic Chemistry**

**Extent of Employment**: 30 hours/week
Job grading in accordance with collective bargaining agreement: -48 VwGr. B1 Grundstufe (praedoc) with relevant work experience determining the assignment to a particular salary grade.

The project heavily focuses on DNA and RNA synthesis at very high throughputs using microarray photolithography for the purpose of library preparation, oligonucleotide combinatorics, data storage and sequencing.

Desirable qualifications are - Teaching experience / experience of working with e-learning - Knowledge of university processes and structures - Experience abroad - Basic experience in research methods and academic writing. **Profile**:
MSc degree in bioengineering, genetics and/or synthetic/molecular biology

Experience in the handling, preparation and analysis of nucleic acids is required (PCR, RNA isolation and CRISPR-Cas9).

Ability to learn and navigate between interdisciplinary themes (chemistry/biology/bioinformatics).
General understanding of sequencing methods, bioinformatics and programming.

Excellent command of written and spoken English. French and German are a plus.
Excellent teamwork and communication skills, independent, critical thinking and initiative.
