About the role
We are looking for an experienced accounting leader to join our growing SaaS company in the coffee industry. As the Accounting & Administration Team Lead (Austria) at Cropster, you will be responsible for the accounting activities globally and the administrative activities within Austria.
This role requires a structured and analytical person who can lead a small administration team and who can perform the full spectrum of accounting activities, from daily bookkeeping tasks to the preparation of consolidated financial statements. You will report to our Head of Finance and Administration and work closely with other teams including, but not limited to the US Accounting & Admin team and Financial Controlling, and with external stakeholders (e.g. banks, auditors, tax advisors, accounting consultants).
We are offering this position in Austria. The preferred locations are Innsbruck and Vienna, with work-from-home opportunities.
What you'll do
- Daily bookkeeping activities: ensure that bookkeeping activities related to customers, vendors and cash movements are processed accurately and on time in each Cropster entity (Cropster GmbH in Austria, Cropster Inc in the US).
- Monthly/quarterly accounting closing: perform monthly/quarterly accounting closing activities to ensure financial data is up-to-date for statutory and management reporting purposes.
- Annual financial statements: drive year-end financial closing activities and the preparation of financial statements for each Cropster entity, following both local accounting principles and IFRS guidelines.
- Financial consolidation: combine the individual financial results of each entity into consolidated financial statements on a regular basis.
- Statutory filings: ensure all external financial reporting requirements (e.g. statutory, tax, statistics) are accomplished in a timely and accurate manner.
- Accounting systems: maintain and continually improve accounting systems to drive efficiency and accuracy.
- Team leading: lead the Austrian Accounting & Administration team to ensure that the daily operations of the Austrian offices are running smoothly.
We are looking for someone with
- A strong track record in accounting roles, with gradually increasing responsibilities, including the preparation of consolidated financial statements;
- solid knowledge of UGB and IFRS accounting requirements and of Austrian statutory/tax requirements;
- proven track record of successfully leading, coaching, and managing a team;
- proven experience of working with external stakeholders (banks, auditors, tax advisors);
- excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
- a data-driven and analytical mindset;
- strong written and verbal communication skills in English and German;
- willingness to travel (10-20%).
That said, we’d be particularly delighted to hire someone with
- experience with US-GAAP accounting guidelines;
- qualified accountant (“Bilanzbuchhalter”) certification;
- a passion for driving growth in a dynamic SaaS environment;
- an interest in the coffee industry and specialty coffee market.
