**Position Summary**:
We are looking for a highly motivated Scientist with a strong background in method development and virology to join our team. Focus of the Assay Development unit is to establish and perform assays for product characterization and release testing. With a strong emphasis on assay development, this position aims to contribute to broaden the HOOKIPA assay portfolio.

**Main Responsibilities**:

- Own and drive analytical assay development to meet R&D, as well as RA & QC requirements for product characterization
- Work in a matrix environment with local and global teams including R&D, RA, QC and manufacturing
- Establish partnerships and cooperate with CRO/CLOs for method feasibility and development studies.
- Act as a scientific expert for development and optimization of analytical methods for product characterization
- Plan, perform, supervise, and evaluate experiments and lead & execute on projects
- Documentation, data processing, analysis, and interpretation of data by integrating a broad biological, as well as technical understanding
- Collaborate with internal and external teams, partners and stakeholders
- Work under BSL-2 and adhere to Hookipa quality standards

**Your profile**:

- At least 3 years of experience in developing and/or validating methods in the field of virology or immunology
- Experience with immunological, virological or molecular biological techniques (e.g. cell-based assays, FACS analysis, WB, ELISA, qPCR, MS)
- Substantial knowledge of RA and QC requirements in assay development is of advantage
- Independent, well-organized and proactive work style
- Creative and communicative team player with a strong sense of analytical and strategic thinking who is able to work both, independently and as part of an (interdisciplinary) team
- Experience working in biopharmaceutical or biotechnology industry is of advantage
- Substantial knowledge and experience with Quality systems (e.g. GMP; GLP)
- Fluent in written and oral English and German to drive discussions
- Valid EU working permit

We are required by Austrian law to post a minimum salary. The minimum monthly gross salary for this position is EUR 4.112;
- based on fulltime (40 hours per week); depending on experience and qualification salary can be negotiated. In addition, we offer a performance-related bonus payment and participation in our stock option compensation program.
