The ERC-funded Pauli and Obenauf Groups at the Research Institute of Molecular Pathology (IMP) in Vienna, Austria, are jointly recruiting a highly motivated **bioinformatician with interest in biology**. He/she will work on research projects that focus on elucidating molecular mechanisms in development and cancer biology.

**Bioinformatician in Development and Disease (M/F/x) - Full Time**

**Your Tasks**
- **Software and technology development**: Implement cutting-edge software and analysis pipelines for data analysis to formulate hypotheses which will then be tested in our experimental systems.
- **Become an integral member of our teams **with deep intellectual project involvement and close interactions with wet lab scientists: Lead bioinformatic analyses, provide support, teach scientists in the team how to analyze their data, contribute to paper writing.

**Your Profile**
- Training in bioinformatics, computer science, genome biology, physics, or another quantitative field (Master and/or PhD)
- Strong programming skills (Proficiency in either R or Python is a must) and experience working with large volumes of data
- Proficiency in Unix/Linux and experience with shared compute resources (HPC, job queuing systems)
- Prior experience with next-generation sequencing data and high-throughput bioinformatics is a plus
- High accuracy and reliability in the processing of large-scale data, solid understanding of quantitative methods
- Collaborative mindset and motivation to work in an international, interdisciplinary environment
- Prior experience in the implementation of analytical pipelines (Nextflow, Snakemake) is desirable
- Team player with strong communication skills and a proactive “getting things done” mentality
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English (German language skills are not required)
