We are looking for a **Rare Disease Lead Austria **who is **curious, committed, and passionate** to change the patient journey of specific rare disease populations, to come join our ABN (Alps, Benelux, Nordic) Rare Disease Team.
**About the role**
As Rare Disease Lead, you will play an integral role in identifying and building collaborative relationships with all relevant healthcare professional stakeholders, executing commercial strategies, and enabling access for all rare patients we can serve. You will master brand messaging, targeting, and digital omnichannel sales to deliver persuasive, high-impact customer experiences. It will be vital to demonstrate great commitment to the Rare Disease patient community and understand the national and regional patient journey, the barriers they face in care, diagnosis, and treatment, and co-created with the community to help them overcome those barriers.
**Who you’ll work with**
In this role, you will work with the wider commercial organization to develop and execute commercial strategies in your own region. Share and develop best practices from the wider UCB and within the Rare Disease team. Be a ‘first point of contact’ across Austria and work closely with the MSL (Alps/Benelux)) and other UCB colleagues, e.g., from Marketing. Externally, you build strong external customer and stakeholder relationships within the rare disease starting with the neuromuscular specialty area.
**What you’ll do***
- Analyse and execute strategic business/accounts plans including the network/regional patient journey, standards of care, treatment drivers, clinical data (efficacy & safety) on UCB products and competitors
- Utilize innovative (incl. digital) methods to identify patients and enable access to high-efficacy and safe treatments earlier
- Advocate for Rare Disease patients and serve as the authority on the various tools and resources UCB offers to support physicians, pharmacists, nurses, and other health care providers
- Maintains strong relationships within the regional payer landscape to ensure providers are informed on coverage and reimbursement status and enables access for patients. Collaborate with the payer access team to ensure all relevant stakeholders are working with the most-up-to-date information to maximize access and affordability for patients using UCB products
- Lead continuous improvement (embracing a growth mindset) as evidenced by insights gained/shared about geography, stakeholders, and customer needs through day-to-day experience; growth in core competencies with feedback sought from managers and colleagues, courses taken, on-the-job projects and relevant trainings
- Delivers/communicates balanced information on new therapies in rare disease areas
**I**nterested? For this role we’re looking for the following** **education, experience,** **and **skills***
- 5+ years of field-based experience in sales, account management, and/or field reimbursement in biopharmaceuticals (research-driven) within a competitive specialty market segment
- Experience with key medical, scientific, and healthcare concepts, data analysis, language, and practices related to neurology and rare diseases
- Experience serving a variety of accounts along the patient journey - with a focus on academic centres, yet amended by community/office-based care, hospitals, and private office practices
- Demonstrated ability to maximize impact of multichannel/digital tools and strategy/tactics with territory HCPs
- Languages: full professional proficiency in English and local language (both writing and speaking).
