Job Purpose:
We are expanding the core of our Analytical Characterization (AC) team in Kundl, Austria - to supply cutting edge analytics and in-depth protein knowledge for challenging new biological entities (NBEs). We support biopharmaceuticals from the development phase to commercialization and up to life-cycle management activities. AC applies a wide range of physico-chemical analytical techniques with a focus on mass spectrometry to characterize biopharmaceutical products.
We are looking for an associate with profound interest and joy in hands-on mass spectrometry-based protein, peptide and glycan analysis. You are excited by new analytical challenges and willing to stay on track “till the riddles are solved”.
Your key responsibilities:

- You design, plan, perform and document scientific experiments for the characterization of therapeutic proteins, their posttranslational modifications, degradation products using state of the art LC-MS instruments.
- Essential tasks include generation, evaluation and interpretation of data as well as proper documentation of results. You perform analytical tasks within the scope of established procedures.
- You prepare technical documents e.g. analytical procedures.
- You are responsible for the maintenance and qualification of lab equipment.
- Participate in function-specific sub teams and fulfill assigned tasks and responsibilities under supervision.

**Role Requirements**

What you’ll bring to the role:

- Technical expert studies with Master of Science in Chemistry, Pharmacy, Biology or other natural sciences Bachelor of Science with at least 2-3 years of relevant experience in the biopharmaceutical industry.
- Hands-on experience with mass spectrometric characterization of proteins/peptides/glycans is mandatory. Basic theoretical and practical knowledge of state-of-the-art ESI-Q-TOF, Orbitrap or MALDI-TOF MS technologies as well as MS data processing software solutions (e.g. Xcalibur, Refiner MS, Analyst, GPMAW) is required.
- You have a pivotal interest in instrumental analytical approaches and the ability to obtain proficiency in new technologies in short time.
- Fluency in English (oral and written), knowledge of German is a plus.

Desirable Requirements:

- Solid scientific/technical writing and presentation skills.
- First experience in protein/peptide/glycan separation approaches (i.e. chromatographic, various modes).
- Independent, thorough and reliable working style, first experience to trouble-shoot analytical equipment and processes.
- Understanding of development activities and processes in Biopharma and knowledge on relevant regulatory guidelines.
- Basic programming skills (e.g. R, Phyton)

For this position the minimum salary is €54,735.38/year (on a full time basis). We also offer a potential market oriented excess payment in line with your experience and qualifications.
