**Physician-Researcher Pathway an der MedUni Wien**

**Präambel**:Während jede ärztliche Ausbildungsstelle am AKH potentiell eine universitäre Forschungsstelle darstellt, ist der tatsächliche Einsatz der klinisch tätigen Ärzt:innen in hochqualifizierter experimenteller und/oder translationaler Forschung förderungsbedürftig. Nur wenige Forschungsstellen für Doktoratsstudent:innen an Top-Einrichtungen der MedUni Wien, die von hochkompetitiven Förderinstitutionen finanziert werden (FWF, EU, ähnliches), werden mit Mediziner:innen besetzt. So sind auch unter den Absolvent:innen der N094-Programme Ärzt:innen in Ausbildung eine deutliche Minderheit.

**Zielsetzung**: Die Verbesserung der wissenschaftlichen Ausbildung während der Ausbildung zum/zur klinischen Fachärzt:in im Physician-Researcher Pathway baut auf der Integration von Forschung und klinischer Tätigkeit durch Schaffung und Strukturierung von finanzierter „Protected Science Time“ in hochqualifizierten Einrichtungen der MedUni Wien auf. Dieses Instrument wird „High-Potentials“ ermöglichen, im frühen Karriereweg jene Qualifizierung zu erreichen, die notwendig ist, um kompetitiv finanzierte Forschungsstellen besetzen zu können, sowie verbesserte Chancen im Sinne der internationalen Mobilität als auch der internen Karrierevereinbarung aufzuweisen.

An der Klinik kann die Stelle des Physician-Researcher während dessen „Protected Science Time“ durch eine Ersatzkraft besetzt werden.

**Interne Ausschreibung („Call“) für Physician Researcher Pathway („PRP“) Scholarships**

Zahl der anzubietenden PRP Scholarships: 5

An der Medizinischen Universität Wien sind 5 Scholarships zu je 12 Monaten „Protected Science Time“ im Rahmen von Physician-Researcher Pathway (PRP) Vereinbarungen für wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiter:innen der Universität in ärztlicher Verwendung („Ausbildung zum/zur Fachärzt:in“) zu vergeben. Alle, die die Voraussetzungen erfüllen (s.u.), können sich um eine PRP Vereinbarung bewerben.

Bei Abschluss einer PRP Vereinbarung erfolgt für die Dauer der „Protected Science Time“ einheitlich eine Bezahlung mit kollektivvertraglichem Entgelt der wissenschaftlichen Mitarbeiter:innen der Universitäten in nicht-ärztlicher Verwendung. Während der Protected Time werden ausschließlich Aufgaben in der Forschung wahrgenommen, eine Einbindung in klinische Routinetätigkeiten erfolgt nicht. Nach Beendigung der „Protected Science Time“ erfolgt die Rückstufung auf das Ausgangsgehalt wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter:innen der Universitäten in ärztlicher Verwendung und eine Verlängerung des Vertrages um 3 Monate (bzw. um die Zeit der „Protected Science Time“, die über der auf die klinische Ausbildung anrechenbaren Zeit liegt).

**Voraussetzungen **für die Bewerbung**
- Ärzt:innen in kombinierter klinischer und wissenschaftlicher Ausbildung, vorzugsweise innerhalb der ersten beiden Ausbildungsjahre
- Stelle der MedUni Wien als wissenschaftliche:r Mitarbeiter:in in ärztlicher Verwendung („Ausbildung zum/zur Fachärzt:in“)
- Inskription in ein Doktoratsstudium der MedUni Wien
- Forschungsvorhaben im Rahmen der doctoral thesis an einer anderen OE der MedUni Wien als der, an der der/die wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiter:in in ärztlicher Verwendung angestellt ist (dokumentiert in Thesis proposal und Forschungsplan für das konkrete Projektjahr, sowie durch Letter of Recommendation von Thesis SupervisorIn)
- Betreuungszusage der Hosting Forschungsinstitution der MedUni Wien (dokumentiert durch Letter of Recommendation von geplantem Host/Betreuer:innen, inklusive Bestätigung zur Bereitstellung der entsprechenden Ressourcen)
