The Institute of Prehistory and Historical Archaeology offers a position (Postdoc - Assistant Prof. Rebay-Salisbury) in the field of biological anthropology. The Postdoctoral Assistant will participate in ongoing research projects of Prof. Rebay-Salisbury in which cultural and contextual information is interpreted on an equal footing with bioarchaeological data. The postdoctoral assistant develops his/her own research profile and participates in teaching at the institute. The acquisition of third-party funding is desired and encouraged. We offer the opportunity to work in an international and interdisciplinary team with a range of theoretical and methodological approaches and research traditions. The position is advertised for 2 years and 8 months, with the employment initially limited to 1.5 years and automatically extended to 2 years and 8 months, unless the emploer submits a non-extension declaration after a maximum of 12 months.

**Profile**:

- practical experience in the recording of skeletons and cremated human remains from archaeological excavations
- knowledge of statistical methods and analyses (multivariate methods, programming language R, database creation and management)
- knowledge of digital image processing, photogrammetry and geographic information systems (preferably QGIS)
- very good written and spoken English
- flexibility, ability to work in a team and willingness to do research at home and abroad
