Job Description Summary
Under the direction of the Associate Director of Accounting and International Operations, the financial analyst serves as oversight for a subset of School and University business processes and provide guidance to stakeholders. This position will provide support for school-wide processes related to tax reporting, international operations, and financial close. The financial analyst will lead and participate in various financial projects including but not limited to within the revenue generating business units, creating and/or maintaining account analyses across the business units and providing insight on financial activities. Attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy are critical success factors for this position. Should demonstrate an advanced level of knowledge for Microsoft Excel and Office Suite with the ability to deliver clear and concise reporting to varied audiences. Should include immediate experience with Business Objects or similar reporting systems.
**Job Description**:
Job Responsibilities- Provide support for the School’s annual reporting processes including but not limited to the 990 tax reporting, Unrelated Business Income Tax, and other tax reporting as needed. This also includes assistance in evaluation of new international activity, if any, such as international taxes and reporting requirements.- Work with the Associate Director on the financial close and other year-end reporting. Compile and review information provided by the BA community to ensure financial information is properly recorded. Including improvements to the process and reporting tools.- Support manager on project-based initiatives including but not limited to Wharton Finance and Administration website updating, updating and maintenance thereafter, including reoccurring analytics of key areas such as credit cards and general purchasing.- Provide financial analysis and other ad-hoc requests of new initiatives for the Wharton School, including but not limited to the revenue generating business units. Identify opportunities to streamline and improve current processes if necessary and discuss findings with manager.- Assist manager with preparation of monthly and quarterly international reporting packets.- Assist with analytics of School Level activity on a monthly, quarterly or as needed basis such as School Level procurement and compliance with such policies and procedures. Assist with communicating noncompliance. Complete adhoc departmental reviews. Assist with outreach and support gathering for quarterly Balance Sheet fluxes- Pay Range $70,000 to $75,000
**Qualifications**:
- Bachelor of Science and 3 to 5 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
